Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is Rome's main airport. Also known as Leonardo da Vinci airport, it is located 30km southwest of the city centre. Fiumicino handles numerous domestic flights within Italy, as well as international flights to all major cities. A free 24-hour shuttle service links the airport's three terminals.
There are various ways into town from Fiumicino Airport. The main options are:
1. Train - your best option is the non-stop express to Termini Station, the central rail station, and a train to Tiburtina Station on the east side of Rome. You can then take a taxi to your hotel.
2. Taxi - you can take a taxi straight from the airport. There are fixed fares. Travel time is 40-60 minutes.
3. Buses - these can take about 70 minutes but are pretty cheap. Buses from Fiumicino stop at Lepanto metro station and Termini train station.
Ciampino Airport (CIA) is Rome's second airport and it's located about 15km southeast of the city centre. Over 100 airlines use Ciampino, including Easyjet.
There are buses into central Rome as well as taxis for hire.
